Nestlé Purina Petcare has celebrated the official opening of the company's newest pet food plant in Eden, North Carolina, with numerous visitors. The plant, which cost more than 450 million dollars, is the first Nestlé production facility in the state and took three years to build.
More than 300 new jobs have been created. Nestlé plans to invest a further two billion dollars in the site by 2025 in order to expand its production base.
A 24th factory is currently under construction in Williamsburg Township, Ohio, and is expected to be fully operational in the next 12 months.
